Community Projects

Northumbrian Earth is involved in a variety of community activities to help make the fascinating geodiversity of Northumberland and the Borders accessible to all. Community events will be publicised here when they are set up.

Berwick-upon-Tweed Geology Day

Northumbrian Earth has also run a Geology Day in Berwick-upon-Tweed consisting of a series of lectures in the morning followed by a field trip in the afternoon. This was funded by the Raymond Williams foundation to support educationally and socially disadvantaged communities.

Testimonials

  • "Ian is an ethusiastic geologist and if you go on enough of his walks you soon will be too! Although I have visited the Northumberland Coast many times before, learning about its geology allowed me to see it from a very different perspective. Ian was an enagaging and entertaining guide and as a result of his walk I was able to understand more about this fascinating area."
