Bamburgh

Address: 32 B1340, Bamburgh NE69 7BJ, UK

Bamburgh Castle has been a seat of power since medieval times and linked with even older legends. We meet at the war memorial which is located right under the castle and at the edge of the cricket green. There is even a seat provided at this location!

Bamburgh can be reached using the Arriva X15 bus which runs from Berwick to Newcastle and stops inbetween. By car, follow signs from the A1 and park in the free car park just opposite the entrance to the Castle off Links Road (the B1342) on the right hand side as you travel south out of Bamburgh village.

Testimonials

  • "Ian Kille is an absolute authority on the geology of Northumberland. His knowledge is unmatched, his presentation is perfect and his enthusiasm is unbridled. Ian has lead a series of walks for us along the Northumberland Coast AONB over the last two years and every walk has been immensely enjoyable, thoroughly entertaining and incredibly educational. He is able to explain complex geological sequences across enormous timescales to young and old alike and has piqued a geological interest in many that has kept the audience coming back for all of his walks."
